Everything Australian Accountants Need to Know
MyWorkpapers is becoming BrightWorkpapers. If you’re an Australian accounting practice using MyWorkpapers, this post explains what the change means, what it doesn’t mean, and what, if anything, you need to do.
The short version: nothing about the way you work changes. The rebrand is about who stands behind the product and making that identity clearer and more consistent for every customer, wherever they are.
What Is Changing
The name. MyWorkpapers becomes BrightWorkpapers.
Alongside the name, you will see a refreshed visual layout, updated colours and design that reflect the broader Bright brand refresh. The changes are cosmetic. They are intended to give the product a more modern, cohesive look without altering how it functions or how your team uses it day to day.
Who is Bright
Bright is a software group dedicated to accounting and payroll. For more than two decades, Bright has built software used daily by thousands of accountants, payroll bureaus, and bookkeepers across UK and Ireland. MyWorkpapers has been part of the Bright family for a number of years, and as such expanded our customer based to Australia.
Bright’s portfolio includes some of the most widely used accounting and payroll products, each built on the same foundation: that software works best when the people who build it genuinely understand the people who use it. The tools are designed around the real demands of a professional practice, not adapted from generic business software.
What Is Not Changing
Everything that matters to your practice.
The Functionality. BrightWorkpapers is the same software. The same functionality, the same workflows, the same features your team uses every day. Nothing has been removed, or replaced. If it worked for you yesterday, it works for you tomorrow.
The team. The people behind MyWorkpapers are staying. The team that built the product and supports Australian customers is not going anywhere. You will continue to work with the same people.
Your support. The quality and availability of support is unchanged. Response times, the people you reach, the level of help you receive, all of it continues exactly as it is.
Your subscription. Your contract, pricing, and renewal terms are unaffected. The rebrand does not trigger any change to your existing arrangement.
Why the Name Is Changing
Bright recently completed the most significant review of its brand identity in the company’s history. The work involved listening carefully to customers and understanding not just what they use, but what they need from a software partner.
What came back was consistent: accounting practices want software built by people who genuinely understand their world, backed by a team they can trust, and presented in a way that reflects the quality of what’s underneath.
The rebrand is about making that commitment visible. BrightWorkpapers is not a new product. It is MyWorkpapers, with a name that more clearly reflects the company behind it and the standard it is held to.
For Australian customers, this means one thing above all: the product you have chosen continues to be developed, supported, and invested in by a dedicated team. The name change signals commitment to the product, not a stepping back from it.
A Direct Note to MyWorkpapers Customers in Australia
We understand that any change to software, even a name change, prompts questions. So we want to be straightforward.
This rebrand is not a sign that anything is being wound down, deprioritised, or handed off. The opposite is true. BrightWorkpapers is a product Bright is committed to, backed by a team that has built its reputation on serving accounting practices like yours.
The people you know are staying. The support you rely on continues. The product keeps improving. What changes is the name and that name now reflects clearly who is behind it and what they stand for.
If you have questions, the BrightWorkpapers support team is available to help.
